Growing food company who is expanding rapidly is searching for a Plant/Reliability Engineer. Ideally we are looking for someone who can come into this role and then be promoted to an Engineering Manager role within 24-36 months.


  • BS degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Chemical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or 10+ years’ applicable experience (engineering, maintenance, reliability, continuous improvement) in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 3+ years of applicable experience (engineering, maintenance, reliability, continuous improvement)
  • Design and / or specify typical food processing and packaging systems including:
    1. Pneumatic / screw / belt conveying system
    2. Extruders, driers, oven, scales, blenders, grinders
    3. Liquid handling – pumps, piping, valves
    4. Form / fill / seal, SURP, cartoners and bulk bag packaging equipment
  • Experience managing maintenance activities 
  • Good troubleshooting skills 
  • Interpret design philosophy, with production and maintenance employees, and actively promote a continuous improvement culture
  • Proven record of accomplishment of managing projects on time at or under budget.
  • Foster a safe and high quality working environment
  • Promote open communications and solicit cross-functional input from the company leadership to the plant operators
  • Must be creative in developing solutions and alternatives

The Plant and Reliability Engineer is responsible for providing maintenance, reliability and engineering technical expertise on projects for a food manufacturing plant.  Responsible for the design, development, implementation, startup and maintenance support on engineering projects. This is a great opportunity for someone to work on a wide range of projects. This is a hands-on position with extensive interaction with production and maintenance.

  • Works on specific phases or aspects of projects such as conducting technical studies, budgeting, alternative evaluation, designing / engineering, bidding, economic evaluation, scheduling, preparation of specifications, construction, start-up and troubleshooting
  • Support continuous improvement including process and reliability improvements
  • Be a resource for the maintenance department including CMMS, preventative and predictive maintenance, resource allocation, and spare parts practices for example
  • Identify and implement cost reduction projects
  • Become subject matter expert on projects and equipment
  • Design and manage projects in all aspect of the plant(s) including material handling, conveying, food processing, blending / mixing, packaging, facilities and utilities
