Requirements:

  • BS degree is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics or inventory management
  • Knowledge of cycle counting principles and inventory management best practices
  • Ability to directly manage, supervise, train and motivate hourly personnel
  • Servant leadership style with a coaching and mentoring approach
  • Above average computer skills including advance use of ERP systems
  • Sound decision-making and analytical skills

Duties:

The Distribution and Inventory Manager is responsible for all shipping, receiving and inventory management, as well as directly managing the personnel within these areas.  This manager must be the thought-leader for this area of the factory, seeking to drive continuous improvement in service, quality and cost while also be willing to role model behaviors. This includes a willingness to work alongside of his direct reports when required.  This position requires someone with the ability to interact effectively with floor personnel as well as with senior management, manufacturing/operations, planning, quality and finance.  This manager is the overarching owner of inventory accuracy and therefore is responsible for driving process change to protect and improve inventory accuracy.  Responsibilities include development and implementation of material management policies and procedures.  This position is responsible for storage, and flow of frozen, refrigerated and dry inventory.  The position requires an understanding of leading inventory management practices within a manufacturing environment as well as the ability to use systems to drive efficiency improvement.  This leader must be able to suggest process improvements and strengthen communication channels with other departments.  This leader is also responsible for the direct management and career development of his/her team, approximately 15-20 staff.
