This dynamic new role within our clients R&D function presents an opportunity for an emerging leader to take charge of category project work within our packaging function. You’ll be empowered to lead collaborative efforts with product development, our individual factories, innovation, engineering, category and finance teams to develop or refine optimized packaging solutions that preserve and enhance the presence of our product portfolio on shelf.
Ideal candidates will have the following:
Established expertise in food packaging materials, technologies, pricing models, and bring a business-minded, rigorous problem-solving mindset to the role that considers manufacturing and transportation, cost, design, shelf life, and sales in our packaging solutions.
Develop standards around specifications and spec management, introducing innovation and design to value solutions, and sharing these solutions direct with our customers.
Packaging Engineer degree or equivalent is required.
7 or more years or more of experience in packaging, preferably in a CPG or FMCG environment with rigorous and disciplined packaging standards and processes
Responsible to lead the design of packaging solutions keeping in mind shelf performance (appealing), machine-ability, and shelf life/product protection
Hands on expertise in running well organized and productive plant trails
Manage multiple packaging suppliers
Project management and multi-tasking skills
Understanding factors that would influence materials and packaging costs
Collaborates well with R&D, Manufacturing
Willingness to travel 20-30%
