Procurement Manager

We have been retained to recruit a Procurement Manager for a Mid-Sized Food and Beverage manufacturing company in the Chicagoland area. This is a chance to work in a procurement team where you will get exposure to all things purchased in a food manufacturing company!
The Procurement Manager will review all aspects to optimize buying position for raw material and packaging components. Maintains sufficient inventory levels of raw materials to meet company and customer OTIF requirements. Analyzes daily inventory net requirements and item statistics reports to manage and attain the optimal raw material inventory levels necessary to meet production demands timely. Source and procure high quality raw materials and packaging from reputable vendors. Work closely with Production and R&D teams to identify cost savings and CI opportunities. Evaluate and research commodity markets critical to the items purchased for the company. Improve and implement sourcing strategies to deliver solutions and bring cost savings to the organization.
Ideal candidates will have the following:
BS degree
3+ years of experience functioning in purchasing/procurement/supply chain role in a food or beverage manufacturing company
Experience working on raw material/packaging contract negotiations and strategic sourcing methods.
Requires a customer-first, team-oriented attitude accompanied with determination, honesty, and authenticity.
Experience improving inventory levels and optimizing inventory turns of raw materials.
Progressive analytical software skills: Microsoft Excel/pivot tables.
